Shrek Series "Far, Far Away" Photography Contest Winners

And the Winners Are...

The results are in! Thank you to everyone who entered our Shrek Series “Far, Far Away” Photography Contest. We were delighted by the imagination, humor, storytelling, and photography skills on display. Each finalist found a different way to bring the characters and world of Shrek to life.

First Place: Tim Schneider

Prize: $100 in Minifigures Plus store credit

First-place Shrek photography contest entry by Tim Schneider featuring an elaborate potion room filled with LEGO details

Tim Schneider takes first place with an extraordinary potion-room scene that feels alive from shelf to floor. The elaborate practical build, vivid lighting, expressive character interactions, and dozens of tiny visual discoveries reward every second look. It is the strongest all-around entry, blending ambitious staging, technical execution, imagination, and unmistakable Shrek energy.

Second Place: Roy Manfredi

Prize: $50 in Minifigures Plus store credit

Second-place Shrek photography contest entry by Roy Manfredi featuring Lord Farquaad and a measuring tape visual joke

Roy Manfredi earns second place with a photograph that made us smile immediately. The oversized measuring tape, Lord Farquaad’s exaggerated height, and Shrek’s over-the-shoulder perspective turn one of the character’s defining traits into a wonderfully clear visual joke. It is clever, character-specific storytelling with superb comic timing.

Third Place: Joshua Acree

Prize: $25 in Minifigures Plus store credit

Third-place Shrek photography contest entry by Joshua Acree with Shrek and Donkey silhouetted against a glowing brick-built sunset

Joshua Acree takes third place with a beautifully cinematic scene. The golden backlight, silhouetted figures, and layered fantasy landscape create the feeling of a much larger journey into Far, Far Away.

Behind the Scene

Behind-the-scenes view of Joshua Acree's practical LEGO staging and brick-built sunset background

The behind-the-scenes image makes the achievement even more impressive. Joshua constructed and staged the distant skyline and glowing sunset with real LEGO bricks, carefully arranging the scenery, lighting, and perspective so a tabletop build feels expansive and atmospheric. It is a wonderful example of practical effects and thoughtful toy photography.
