Jon-Burd-Founder-of-Minifigures-Plus

Minifigures Plus was founded in 2011, but the original company began much earlier. A young collector of LEGO himself, Jon Burd began buying and selling in 2007 on online marketplaces under the name Redbrickmarket. The store was a place for custom bricks and old sets, but at that time selling was a small hobby. For several years Jon bought and sold under the name to exchange parts and pieces for MOCs (My Own Creation), but that all quickly changed.

In 2010, LEGO Collectible Minifigures came to the scene and transformed the way TFOLs (Teen Fan Of LEGO) and AFOLs (Adult Fan Of LEGO) build. Of course, Collectible Minifigures had a huge impact on the kids, but let's be honest, it was LUGs (LEGO User Groups) and other MOC builders that were always in the market for custom parts to add to their builds. With the introduction of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures theme, LEGO was able to mass produce enough sets that it was finally viable to create new molds for each series. Seeing the impact this would have, Jon set out to collect as many of the sets as he could afford.

In 2011, Burd changed his marketplace tags to Minifigures Plus and began the trading. The store became top-rated on eBay and now has over 188,000 transactions on that marketplace alone.

In 2013 the name was incorporated and sales on Amazon began. Company leadership was passed on to other members of the family, and to this day Minifigures Plus remains a family business. We are proud to be AFOLs and are active members of online, brick-fan communities. Most of all, we are proud of the opportunities we have had to give back - whether it be donating polybag sets to refugees, giving sets to children in hospitals, or other forms of giving.

We strive to offer the best customer support and often maintain this at the expense of vacation or weekend breaks. It has always been our pride and joy to maintain highest feedback ratings on each marketplace, and we sincerely hope that your experience lives up to that. That being said, while we respond to messages daily, we are not always available 24/7, and we understand that not every order makes it out perfectly. We know what it is like to lose a package, and we know what its like to receive the wrong item. Trust us, we are experts in fixing these problems!

Linda and Jim are the primary managers of the company today, and almost all contact runs through them. Jim is in charge of wholesale orders, and Linda manages the daily operations and packaging. Your order will likely be compiled by others, but you can be sure that all inquiries will be brought to one of their attention, and they will do their best to resolve your issue as quickly as possible.

Jon is not involved in the day-to-day operations anymore, but he assists in accounting and web-related matters on a monthly basis. If you are a long-time customer and remember him, mention his name in the email subject line, and we will be sure to have him respond. It would make his day to hear from you! We love our community!
